Can I have a bite?

Eating. Drinking. Sometimes at home, sometimes on the town.

summertime scrumptiousness

so, i've been quiet lately. i guess i'm just not feeling that good about my writing for, say, the last five years. sometime between doodling and writing poems during class in college and the wonderful world of spreadsheets, i've lost vocabulary, confidence, and some creative flair. it's buried in there somewhere.

anyway, that's not what this is all about. it's SUMMERTIME. a year since i started this humble webpage. and, just as i gushed about it last year, it's time for me to love on summer again. it's still early, so i haven't been able to enjoy summer tomatoes yet. but, in the northwest -- the june/july treat is BERRIES. much to my delight, in late may, our little strawberry patch out front started to bud with little flowers followed by pints upon pints of sweet little ruby strawberries. impromptu strawberry shortcakes for 12 people on ben's 30th bday (6/18) were a breeze.

next, it's beyond my own backyard for raspberries, sylvan berries, marionberries, and blueberries. one thing is for sure, when you buy berries at the market -- be prepared to eat them in the next few days or you'll be sorry. and a good berry is a terrible thing to waste.

gotta run, lunch break's over.....
